Program Overview

This bootcamp is not just an acceleration program for startups, but a part of a global initiative to unite business opportunities and healthcare needs. Our big goal is to create the platform for the long-term development of innovative projects and provide the necessary support for driving the health tech industry in Ukraine and abroad.  

 

We will select 15 startups that will receive 360° support for 2 weeks to develop their product from getting advising / mentorship and networking to long-term partnerships and grants. At the end of the bootcamp, the participants will attend DemoDay. At this final event the best startups will present their projects and get the opportunity to find investors and partners.

Application requirements

A startup/technology project at the MVP stage

At least two project representatives should be ready for an intensive engagement for 2 weeks

English level from Upper-Intermediate

Intention to develop your startup after the course: work on attracting investment, creating new jobs, and monetisation

Willingness to be part of the SET Community

Experience in obtaining investments/grants will be an advantage

Mentors

Franc Bogovic

Franc is currently the COO of finance&invest.brussels. He is a VC fund leader, entrepreneur, former management consultant, and former MP with extensive business experience across Europe and Southeast Asia. Fluent in Dutch, French, and English, with professional experience in German, Franc’s expertise includes venture capital, sustainable finance, scaling of businesses, customer centricity, lean management, and politics. He has successfully led complex transformation and restructuring efforts and played key roles in (re-)building multiple organizations. Franc’s leadership style is a mix of transformational and situational, focused on enabling teams to exceed goals while adapting to unique project needs. Passionate about building businesses, technology, and novel business models, Franc began pursuing a part-time Executive MBA at the University of Oxford in January 2023.

Katrin Geyskens

As a Managing Partner at Capricorn Partners (www.capricorn.be), a Leuven, BE based asset manager, Katrin is currently driving the Capricorn Digital & Health venture funds bringing more than 20 years of venture capital experience. Being a pioneer in the area, she especially likes investment opportunities in the healthtech area, emerging from turning data into actionable insights using AI, Digital Twin, IoT and data science technologies and she gets energized from working with passionate entrepreneurs.
Katrin was the first female president of the BVA (the Belgian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association), she served on their board of directors for ten years. Furthermore, Katrin is a council member of VARIO (the Flemish Council for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) and a board member of Guberna (Institute of Directors). In 2020, she was named one of Belgium’s ‘Inspiring Fifty’, an award celebrating inspiring female leaders in technology.
Katrin obtained a Master of Business Economics: Business Engineering (KU Leuven) and she holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Before falling in love with venture capital, Katrin had a short career in banking and management consulting followed by a stint at a start-up.

FAQ

Do you invest in my project?

No, SET University does not invest in businesses. However, within the Bootcamp, we involve partners through whom the best projects can attract investment.

Does filling out the application guarantee getting to the Bootcamp?

No, it does not. We will select a limited number of teams, projects, and startups from all applications to join the program.

I only have an idea for a HealthTech project, can I participate in the Bootcamp?

No, we consider participants with projects at least at the MVP stage. If you have a project at the idea stage, we recommend that you pay attention to our ideaton.
