FAQ.

Is prior education in cybersecurity required to enroll in this program?

No, prior education in cybersecurity is not mandatory. However, you must have completed a bachelor’s degree in any field.

Does everyone need to take the Unified Entrance Exam (ЄВІ)?

In 2024, applicants with a master’s degree (or a specialist qualification level, NRK7) and applicants with a bachelor’s degree (NRK6) must take the Unified Entrance Exam (ЄВІ) and the Unified Professional Entrance Exam (ЄФВВ). Certain categories of individuals can use Special Conditions for participating in the admission process, allowing them to take a foreign language interview instead of the ЄВІ and a professional exam instead of the ЄФВВ at SET University. Detailed information about the Special Conditions can be found on this page.

Is this a full-time program? Does studying for a master's degree at SET University affect mobilization?

According to the Law of Ukraine “On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization,” a list of individuals not subject to conscription during mobilization is defined. Students pursuing higher education in a full-time program are exempt from conscription during mobilization if they are obtaining a higher level of education than their previous degree.

The programs at SET University are conducted exclusively in a full-time format. Studying in the master’s programs at SET University provides grounds for deferral from mobilization, as it is a full-time program. Full-time students receive a deferment for the duration of their studies. However, you still have the option to voluntarily join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We also offer scholarships for combatants, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and Special Operations Forces.

How long do the master's programs last?

The program consists of 17 modules and lasts 1.5 years.

Is it possible to combine full-time work and studying in the master's program?

Yes, the program is primarily designed for those who already have work experience in IT and are building their careers. Additionally, the master’s program will be hybrid to allow participants to balance their studies with their work commitments.

How to apply for the competitive selection for a master's degree?

You can apply for the competitive selection for a master’s degree through your personal electronic account registered on the EDEBO website (Unified State Electronic Database on Education).

In what format will the classes be held?

Classes are conducted in a blended-hybrid learning format. Educational content will be available on the platform, and all lectures and seminars will be held online according to a predetermined schedule.

A detailed schedule will be provided in September before the start of the academic year. Students will be notified in advance of all offline activities and meetups to help plan their schedules.
