Ukraine is confidently establishing itself as a leader in HealthTech innovation, thanks in part to collaborations among specialists at industry events.

One such event was the launch of the Generation H program, organized by SET University in partnership with the Tokarev Foundation. The program brought together participants from IT, science, and medicine to create breakthrough solutions aimed at supporting mental health, improving access to medical services, and rehabilitating those affected by the war. The program culminated in a Demo Day, where 13 teams presented their startups and innovative healthcare solutions.

Key ideas included mental health solutions, AI tools for reproductive health analysis, telemedicine platforms, and other groundbreaking innovations. The grand prize of $5,000 was awarded to the team Ovul for their AI-powered solution for hormone analysis based on saliva—a simple and accessible way to monitor reproductive health.

The event opened with talks by Pavlo Benesh, co-founder of Photothera Labs, and Emma Popova, EMEA Health Advisor at Microsoft. Following the opening, a panel discussion titled Revolution in HealthTech: From Innovation to Global Impact explored the future of healthcare innovation.

"HealthTech combines an important social mission with significant business opportunities. That’s why I’m inspired to support this field in Ukraine. I’m convinced we have the potential to offer innovative products not only for our local market but also globally. The projects from Generation H participants reinforced this belief. These were exceptional ideas addressing various aspects of healthcare while focusing on real human needs and creating tangible positive impacts. We will undoubtedly continue to support HealthTech startups and the Ukrainian innovators behind them,"
said Serhii Tokarev, founder of the Tokarev Foundation.

The Generation H initiative consisted of two key stages: Ideathon and Bootcamp. The five-day Ideathon provided participants with the opportunity to develop HealthTech ideas from scratch. Following this, 16 teams participated in a two-week Bootcamp, receiving expert mentoring, participating in workshops, and preparing for investor presentations. This transformative experience allowed participants to refine their projects alongside industry leaders.

"In healthcare, the implementation of innovative solutions, artificial intelligence, and big data processing is advancing at an unprecedented pace. Ukraine has the potential and opportunity to lead in this field, fostering the development of cutting-edge healthcare technologies both locally and globally. The Ministry of Health is keen to see the final products from this Bootcamp. We are ready to help program participants and future companies gain access to necessary data, contacts, and medical expertise to support their innovations and transform healthcare in Ukraine and beyond,"
said Ihor Kuzin, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine and Chief State Sanitary Doctor.

Generation H is the beginning of a significant mission. The program lays a strong foundation for building a HealthTech ecosystem in Ukraine to tackle urgent challenges—supporting mental health, ensuring access to medical services, and creating innovative approaches to the rehabilitation of soldiers and displaced individuals.

"Innovation can be a choice, but for Ukraine, it’s a necessity—a response to the challenges we face daily. This necessity strengthens creativity, resilience, and groundbreaking ideas, especially in areas like HealthTech, where solutions can save lives. Investors understand this, and with startups like those from Generation H, we have the chance to turn challenges into solutions the world needs. The world is waiting for Ukrainian innovators to demonstrate how necessity drives progress and creates lasting change,"
said Iryna Volnytska, President of SET University.

In 2025, Generation H plans to grow even larger: more innovators, more global partners, and more life-changing solutions.
