Ex-CIA, ex-Uber, ex-Tesla visited Kyiv and held several events about cybersecurity for SET University

In March, cybersecurity expert (ex-CIA, ex-Tesla), professor of cybersecurity at William Jewell College, and CSO and adjunct professor at SET University Nick Gisinto visited Kyiv and held several important events.

Fwdays: The Strength of Being Vulnerable: the experience from CIA, Tesla and Uber

On March 16, right after his arrival, Nick spoke at the largest tech conference Fwdays ’24, covering the topic of vulnerability and its role in leadership:

'Defense in-depth' — offline lecture for students of the SET University Master's program Cyber Defense:

The offline class on in-depth defense became part of the course “Insider Threats” in our Master’s program “Cyber Defense”. During the hour-and-a-half lecture, Nick spoke about the aspects of social engineering and the nuances of cyber defense of large technology companies. After the lecture, there was a networking session with community members and SET University students.

Cyberwars: protecting businesses and people — offline meetup

In partnership with UNIT.City we held a meetup about strategies for enhancing company information security, addressing insider threats, and leadership in cybersecurity specifically for tech experts and businesses. 150+ guests attended the event to get insights. There were more than 1,5 hours of discussions and interaction with the audience.

 

In cybersecurity, software is the solution. A cyber specialist is “something of a psychologist themselves” who monitors people in a team, can predict the ways of criminals, and understand at what stage of their activities they can be exposed.
