SET University, in collaboration with UMAEF, is launching a four-day ideathon for teams and individuals interested in the space technology sector called SpaceTech Bootcamp: Reimagine Ukraine. Applications are open from July 23 to August 12, and can be submitted by filling out a form.

SpaceTech Bootcamp: Reimagine Ukraine is a four-day ideathon focusing on the restoration of Ukraine through the analysis of satellite data, utilizing AI/ML tools and computer vision technology.

"Space technology is not just about science fiction or rocket building; it involves complex analytics, predictive models, and ML/AI technologies. Through space tech, we can enhance the agricultural sector by improving crop yields and better planning distributed energy systems. The space industry already impacts our present, and through this ideathon, we aim to strengthen this impact for the future restoration of Ukraine,"
commented Yevhenia Klepa, Director of Partnerships and Innovation at SET University.

The ideathon includes four main tracks dedicated to the use of technology for restoration and development in various sectors in Ukraine and potentially worldwide.

These tracks cover:

→ Crisis and emergency management using satellites

→ Innovations for supporting and developing distributed energy in Ukraine

→ Enhancing agricultural resilience through satellite data

→ New technological approaches for space solutions.

Participants can include both existing products and specialists with project ideas in the space tech field. SET University will assist in forming teams if needed and will provide challenges and datasets for participants to work with during the program.

"The space industry is rapidly developing, and technologies designed for it often find applications on Earth. I hope our SpaceTech Bootcamp will be a powerful start for participants, and soon we will see the realization of cool startups that will change Ukraine and the world,"
commented Sergey Tokarev, IT entrepreneur and investor, co-founder of SET University.

The ideathon will take place from August 16 to 19. The program includes mentoring sessions, lectures from entrepreneurs and researchers, and practical work. Training and interactions with mentors will be held online, allowing Ukrainians from anywhere in the world to participate. During the training, participants will delve into aspects of product development, market analysis, financial planning, pitching, and interacting with investors.

Among the program’s mentors are Ukrainian and international experts in space technology, energy, and the agricultural sector, including Olga Trofimtseva, Vira Petryk, Oleksandra Olin, Andriy Sevryukov, Oleksandr Melnyk, and others.

Applications for participation are open until August 12, 2024
